What to Expect During Your First Jeuveau® Treatment?
Fine lines and wrinkles may be a natural part of aging, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept them. If you’re considering Jeuveau® as a solution for smoother, younger-looking skin, you’re not alone. At Longwood Plastic Surgery, our expert injectors offer this FDA-approved neuromodulator to help you refresh your appearance with precision and care.
What is Jeuveau® for Lines and Wrinkles?
Jeuveau® is a modern wrinkle-smoothing injectable that temporarily relaxes the facial muscles responsible for dynamic lines—those that appear from repeated facial expressions like frowning, squinting, or raising your eyebrows. It’s especially effective in softening frown lines (also called glabellar lines) between the brows.
This treatment uses a purified form of botulinum toxin type A to block nerve signals to targeted muscles. As the muscles relax, the overlying skin smooths out, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and preventing new ones from forming.

What to Expect During Your First Jeuveau® Treatment
Your first Jeuveau® appointment at Longwood Plastic Surgery begins with a consultation. One of our experienced injectors will assess your concerns, examine your facial anatomy, and determine how many units of Jeuveau® will achieve your goals.
The injection process itself is quick—typically taking about 10 to 15 minutes. Most people describe the sensation as a slight pinch or pressure. The needle used is very fine, and most patients find the experience highly tolerable without the need for numbing cream.
Our team focuses on natural-looking results, so you’ll still be able to express yourself—just without the harsh lines. We carefully plan each injection site to enhance your appearance while preserving your unique facial expressions.
What to Expect After Your First Jeuveau® Treatment
There’s no downtime required after Jeuveau®, which means you can return to your daily activities right away. You might experience mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites, but these side effects usually resolve within a day or two.
Full results typically develop within 2 to 3 days—faster than some other neuromodulators. You’ll notice your skin looks smoother, your frown lines have softened, and your overall expression appears more relaxed and refreshed.
The effects of Jeuveau® usually last about 3 to 4 months, after which you can schedule maintenance treatments to keep your results consistent.
Is Jeuveau® Different from Botox®?
Jeuveau® and Botox® are both botulinum toxin type A products, but Jeuveau® was specifically developed and marketed for aesthetic use. Its purification and manufacturing process—Hi-Pure™ technology—gives it a refined consistency that some patients and providers prefer for treating frown lines.
While both treatments work similarly and deliver comparable results, some individuals may respond better to one over the other based on personal biology and aesthetic goals. During your consultation, we’ll help you decide if Jeuveau® is the best choice for your needs.
Am I a Good Candidate for Jeuveau®?
You may be a good candidate for Jeuveau® if:
- You’re in overall good health
- You have moderate to severe frown lines between the brows
- You want a non-surgical treatment for a smoother, more youthful appearance
- You’re not pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have realistic expectations for results
If you’ve never tried wrinkle relaxers before or are curious about switching from another brand, Jeuveau® can be an excellent option. The expert injectors at Longwood Plastic Surgery will guide you through every step and ensure your treatment plan aligns with your goals.
I had a very good experience with Dr Morris and his staff. Considering the seriousness of my surgery, it was all completed with a minimal amount of problems. I would definitely recommend Longwood Plastic Surgery and if necessary, would have further work done there.
