How Does A Trans Feminine Top Surgery Work?
Trans feminine top surgery involves increasing chest size for a more feminine appearance using breast implants. This is typically done with saline or silicone implants, or in some cases, fat transfer may be sufficient to add subtle volume for a more feminine shape.
It’s important to note that Longwood Plastic Surgery does not currently offer hormone therapy. Patients are typically required to be on hormone therapy for at least one year before surgical intervention is considered. Please consult your primary care physician, psychiatrist, or endocrinologist for more information on this type of therapy.
Am I a Good Candidate for Trans Feminine Top Surgery?
You should be in otherwise good general health, be a non-smoker, and have realistic expectations about what Top Surgery can do for you. If you are a transwoman or non-binary transgender person and would like to see more feminine contours, you may be a good fit for MTF Top Surgery. Longwood Plastic Surgery also offers other types of Gender Affirming Surgery to help you achieve your desired appearance.
MTF Top Surgery is considered a reconstructive procedure and, in many instances, may be covered by insurance in Massachusetts.
