Surgical Body Contouring at LPS

Aesthetic surgery is performed to reshape normal structures of the body in order to improve the patient’s appearance and self-esteem. With over 40 years of combined experience, our team of board-certified physicians and surgeons can help you achieve an optimal outcome with as little recovery as possible.

How Does A Body Contouring Work?

LPS creates customized treatment plans for each patient that walks through our door. We pride ourselves on providing individualized care with a strong emphasis on compassion, respect, and privacy. With the wide variety of body contouring procedures performed at Longwood Plastic Surgery, we’re sure to have a procedure that’s right for you!

There are 2 main methods for contouring soft tissue – First, there is liposuction, which is the removal of fat through minimal incisions (See Liposuction). Finally, there is excision or removal of the tissue through surgery (e.g. cutting the tissue out).

Am I a Good Candidate for Body Contouring?

We’re here to help you reach your contouring goals whatever they may be. Whether you’d like to address moderate chin fullness or want to see dramatic changes to your breasts or abdominal contour, LPS is sure to have the solution for you. The ideal candidate for surgical procedures is an otherwise healthy adult with realistic expectations about what the procedure can do for them.

Depending on your individual needs and goals, you may be a good fit for one or more of the following body contouring procedures at LPS;

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck): Removal of excess abdominal skin and fat
Brachioplasty: Removal of excess skin and fat from the upper arm
Circumferential Torsoplasty or Lower Body Lift: Removing “belt” of tissue including skin and fat from around the circumference of the lower trunk (includes abdominoplasty and lower body lift)
Liposuction (Suction-Assisted Lipectomy): Removing fatty deposits from specific areas of the face and body using a cannula (thin tube)
Mastopexy: Procedure to elevate the breasts (similar to breast reduction)
Panniculectomy: Excision of skin/fat usually in the lower abdomen or upper thighs
Thighplasty: Usually denotes lifting of the medial thigh

At the time of your consultation, we’ll assess your concerns, speak with you about your goals, and go over all of your contouring options in depth. While one patient may be better suited for a surgical procedure, another might be able to get the results they want through minimally-invasive methods.

FAQ’s

The results you’ll see will vary significantly based on the procedure chosen to give you a more sculpted physique. Surgical procedures, for example, typically produce more dramatic results with a single session. Non-invasive treatments offer results that are gradual and progressive. You can maintain long-lasting results after body contouring when you follow healthy lifestyle habits.

Like projected results, recovery can vary depending on your specific procedure. Surgical procedures can have several weeks of recovery. Your board-certified physician or surgeon will walk you through every aspect of your upcoming procedure including the recovery process at the time of your initial consultation.
