Nose Surgery – Bringing Out The Natural Beauty of Your Face

Like any great work of art, you want your face to be greater than the sum of its parts. Sometimes, the nose can get in the way of that. If you’re looking to improve your facial appearance, the best place to start is right in the middle of it– and that’s where the rhinoplasty comes in. Commonly called a “nose job,” nose surgery at Longwood Plastic Surgery can be your best friend in helping you to enhance your natural beauty.

How Does A Nose Surgery Work?

Nose surgery is a surgery designed to either change the appearance of the nose or to improve its function. Made primarily of bone, cartilage, and skin, the nose is delicate– this means that you’ll want a top-of-the-line surgeon on your side. Longwood Plastic Surgery can help customize a procedure that’s as subtle or dramatic as you’d like.

Whenever possible, your surgeon will avoid working on the outside of the nose entirely ensuring optimal outcomes with minimal pain, scarring, or downtime. Rhinoplasties are typically done on an outpatient basis allowing you to recover in the privacy of your own home.

Am I a Good Candidate for Nose Surgery?

Whether or not you’ve always thought about rhinoplasty or are just now considering it, you could be a good candidate. Because results are long-lasting, many men and women opt for rhinoplasty procedures at an early age. Nose surgery can be beneficial for both patients with aesthetic and functional concerns.

Patients should have realistic expectations about what the procedure can do for them. However, if you’re in good general health and wish to change your facial appearance, rhinoplasty may be right for you.

FAQ’s

Patients that undergo rhinoplasty report more confidence in their appearance, with other facial features becoming more noticeable. Gradual improvement will continue to occur as the majority of post-operative swelling subsides. Patients can expect changes to the general structure of the nose with full results achieved in several months. Nose surgery typically produces results that are long-lasting. In fact, most patients only need one in a lifetime.

Whenever possible, your team at Longwood Plastic Surgery will try to use closed techniques. This means that they will try only to make incisions on the inside of the nose, speeding up recovery and minimizing downtime. Most patients report little to no pain the day after surgery, with downtime lasting 1-2 weeks. It is recommended that strenuous activity be avoided for 3 weeks following surgery.

Your specialist will help you through recovery and will provide a more detailed aftercare plan dependent on the intensity of the procedure.
